DIGITALIZATION: The key to new technologies in the Occupational Risks Prevention and Emergency Response (ORPaE)
Prevention and protection in the workplace and emergency care, in the face of their derived risks, face critical challenges related to the safety equipment available to operators and workers in general. We can avoid these risks with the famous PPE (PPE, in Anglo-Saxon, EPP, in many Latin American countries, DPI, in Italy, etc.). Errors caused by the difficulties presented by categorization and distinction, search, selection, and choice, or tracking during purchase, delivery, use, and disposal increase the accident rate, putting workers at risk. In the case of negligence, these problems seriously affect the Professionals who must prescribe them, their managers, and their board of directors in accordance with increasingly demanding legislation. Digitization and computational data processing minimize these situations, transforming the world of occupational risk prevention and opening doors to technologies that enhance security and redefine protection. In this Congress, we will start with Panel 1, exploring how digital tools are revolutionizing prevention and optimizing risk management. Panel 2 immerses us in the quality of the equipment, analyzing its impact on accidents and the importance of an appropriate selection for occupational safety. Panel 3 takes us to the future, where innovation guarantees more resilient work environments in the face of emerging challenges. On this first day, we will take advantage of the exhibitions of new technologies that reduce risk, attending the talks and demonstrations of a few very illustrative stands. The second day will start with Panel 4, sharing the experiences of large companies in the use and adoption of this critical equipment. Panel 5 explores how technology and its basis, parameterized digitalization, are reconfiguring prevention. We will end the Congress with Panel 6, a mix between the current reality and the future, where the Digital Product Passport rounds out the innovative future presented to us for safety equipment.

Welcome
I am honored to welcome you to this international event organized by IPTechnology, the University of Seville, in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment of the Regional Government of Andalusia. This meeting focuses on the prevention of occupational risks, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and digitalization as a means to enhance workplace safety. Each year, millions of occupational accidents and illnesses serve as a reminder that safety at work is a fundamental human right recognized by the International Labour Organization (ILO). Beyond the human toll, workplace accidents also represent significant financial costs and business responsibilities.
It is essential to invest in technology to reduce these incidents and promote safer work environments. In this initial event of a global series, we will introduce five innovative initiatives that aim to shape the future of occupational risk prevention, with further developments to be discussed in upcoming meetings.
Thank you to the professionals, organizations, and companies present here today; together, we can work towards a safer and more sustainable future at work. Welcome to the Law School of the University of Seville, and thank you for being part of this important effort.
